Premier League club Manchester United are keeping tabs on OGC Nice goalkeeper Marcin Bulka, according to Fichajes. The club are impressed with his performances this season in Ligue 1 and might be making a move in the summer.
Marcin Bulka is having a great season
Marcin Bulka came through the ranks of Chelsea before Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) signed him in 2019. After a short stint at PSG, he was lured by Nice in 2021 on a loan with an option to buy. A solid debut season tempted the club to make his move permanent in 2022.
The 24-year-old Polish goalkeeper has been in terrific form this season. He has featured in 30 games so far, managing to keep 15 clean sheets. He is known for his crazy penalty-saving ability, apart from quick reflexes and strong hands.
Bulka’s huge potential has attracted interest from multiple clubs, including Manchester United and Real Madrid. Both the clubs are uncertain about the future of their present goalkeepers. Hence, they wish to lock in a fresh goal-stopper.
Should Manchester United buy another goalkeeper?
Manchester United faced massive criticism for investing largely in Andre Onana at the start of the season. The goalkeeper’s had a disastrous start to the new campaign but has stepped up in recent weeks. However, this has left the club confusing whether to trust him in the long term or not.
Hence, the Reds are willing to bring a new competitor to Onana in the summer. They see Marcin Bulka as a viable pick and might be proposing an official deal for the goalkeeper if convinced. But will he be the perfect fit at the Old Trafford?
Bulka is a good performer without a doubt but has no prior Premier League experience. Performing in the English League and the French League are two different things. Moreover, with the presence of Altay Bayindir and the need to bolster other units, investing in another goalkeeper might not be the best move.
