Newcastle United entertained West Ham United at St. James’ Park earlier today as they looked to earn a good result at home in the Premier League. The Magpies made a quick start to the game and scored the opening goal in the sixth minute when Alexander Isak scored from the penalty spot. However, Michail Antonio equalised for the Hammers in the 21st minute before Mohammed Kudus completed the turnaround for the visitors in the latter stages of the first half. Newcastle were trailing 2-1 at the half-time interval.
Jarrod Bowen put daylight between the two sides when he scored in the 48th minute. However, Alexander Isak got his name on the scoresheet via the penalty spot in the 77th minute before Harvey Barnes equalised in the 83rd minute. Barnes went on to score a dramatic winner in the 90th minute. Anthony Gordon was sent off by the referee in injury time as Eddie Howe’s men secured a comeback 4-3 win in front of their home fans.
