Manchester United reportedly are the frontrunners to land Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie. The 20-year old has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs including Chelsea.
He has been touted as the next ‘Yaya Toure’. Jose Mourinho reportedly is a long-term admirer of the player and has told United officials to seal the deal for the midfield sensation. The player is currently in Gabon taking part in the AFCON and therefore a move in the summer is not imminent.
The Red Devils are ready to offer as much as £35m to land the midfielder. Chelsea already had a £22m bid rejected for the player. Kessie’s ability to control the midfield and scoring goals has made him one of the most sought after names in Europe.
He has already netted seven times this season as Atalanta are currently placed sixth in the Serie A.
If Kessie does come to United he could be the replacement of Michael Carrick who has been excellent but is at the wrong end of his 30s.
