Arsene Wenger is not worried about Alexis Sanchez. The French gaffer rather thinks that Chelsea’s recent problem with Diego Costa is much worse than that.
Wenger had been trying to negotiate a new contract with Sanchez. The Chilean winger is delaying a new contract over wages. He has demanded a significant rise in his current wage which the club are not willing to give.
The Chilean recently reacted angrily after being substituted against Swansea. Wenger decided to take him off from the pitch minutes after he scored the fourth goal of the game. The 28-year-old was visibly unhappy as he expressed his frustration.
He did this similar kind of thing after the Bournemouth game. Arsenal came back to draw the match 3-3 but the ex-Barcelona player was unhappy with his team and didn’t utter a single word in the dressing room.
Wenger said, “I’d rather have someone who always wants to be involved than someone who doesn’t want to play.
“I have enough problems — I don’t need a Costa problem on top of that.
“Alexis is a guy who wants to fight everywhere, sometimes where he shouldn’t. But that is a part of his game. All my players want to play for every minute but for me this is not a story.”
