Manchester United’s ongoing campaign hasn’t been fruitful yet and they have already started preparing for next season. The club have joined the race to sign Real Madrid attacker Brahim Diaz in the summer, according to a report published in TeamTalk.
The Red Devils believe that the arrival of Diaz will add much-needed depth to their offensive unit. However, they will face obstacles from the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle United, who are also willing to acquire the services of the talented youngster.
has earned a reputation this season
Brahim Diaz was signed by Real Madrid in 2019 for a reported fee of €17 million. After his initial season, he was loaned to AC Milan, where he lifted the Serie A championship. He returned to Spain in the summer and has been contributing for the Whites this season.
Though the 21-year-old hasn’t been able to cement his place as a starter, he is regularly used by Carlo Ancelotti. He has featured in 33 games so far, netting nine goals and assisting four. He is averaging 1.1 shots, 1 key pass and 1.6 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
Diaz is a creative pick in the offensive line as he is good at dribbling, providing key passes and through balls. Though he mainly plays as an attacking midfielder, he is versatile enough to play on both the flanks.
Brahim Diaz is a good pick for Manchester United
With uncertainty over the future of Antony at Old Trafford, Manchester United need to bring in a fresh attacker. Brahim Diaz’s arrival could be a huge boost for them as he is versatile enough to fill different roles and could be a decisive player in the final third.
However, Real Madrid might hesitate to sell the Morrocan player in the summer. They understand the player’s potential and could add them to their lucrative sporting project. Even the player himself may not prefer moving to the Premier League. It remains to be seen if the Red Devils make an official move or not.
