Barcelona will face off against Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday night as they try to earn a good result on the road in La Liga. The Catalan club managed to earn an impressive 3-1 victory over Napoli recently which should give them some confidence ahead of this clash.
Xavi will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to keep changes to a minimum for this game. Hence, we can expect to see Robert Lewandowski spearhead Barca’s attack in the final third.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Atletico Madrid
Defence
Marc-Andre ter Stegen will feature in between the sticks for the Catalan club after conceding one goal in his last outing. Ronald Araujo will function alongside Pau Cubarsi at the centre of the Barca backline as they try to keep the opposition at bay throughout the game.
Jules Kounde will continue to operate as the right-back while Joao Cancelo hopes to impress on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Hector Fort will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Ilkay Gundogan, Andreas Christensen and Fermin Lopez will make up Xavi’s midfield as they focus on winning the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park. All three of them need to be at their best if Barcelona are to secure all three points away from home this weekend.
Sergi Roberto and Oriol Romeu will be available for selection on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second half if needed.
Attack
Raphinha will look to give a good account of himself as the left-winger while Lamine Yamal looks to catch the eye as the right-sided wide player. Robert Lewandowski will lead the line for the Catalan giants up top. He has to find a way to threaten the Atletico Madrid goal if Barca are to come out on top this weekend.
Joao Felix will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages of the game if the Catalan outfit are in need of a goal by then.
