In a recent report, Mundo Deportivo claimed that Real Madrid are among the clubs hoping to land FC Copenhagen starlet Roony Bardghji. It is understood that Los Blancos could face competition in the form of Barcelona, Juventus, Chelsea, Bayer Leverkusen and Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign the Swedish wide player.
Bardghji’s Impressive Rise In Denmark
Bardghji has caught the eye with his performances at the Danish club after putting in a series of impressive displays on the right side of their attack. The 18-year-old has scored 11 goals in 31 appearances for Copenhagen this season on all fronts.
The Kuwait City-born talent has made a positive impact off the bench in Europe as he is averaging 1.3 shots and 1.7 dribbles per game in the UEFA Champions League. He has even distributed the ball accurately in the opponent’s half based on his pass completion rate of 87.5% in European football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Copenhagen will run out at the end of 2025. Hence, Los Blancos could potentially land him on a cut-price deal later this year.
Real Madrid Are Among The Clubs Hoping To Land Bardghji: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Bardghji is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the eye to play a few decisive passes in the attacking end of the pitch. He can shoot the ball with venom and accuracy from long range as well.
However, the Swedish whizkid is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth at the highest level. Still, there is no denying that he is a prospect to watch out for in the future. Thus, Real Madrid would do well to snap him up in the summer transfer window.
Bardghji is already good enough to serve as a sporadic presence in Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti’s match-squad. At 18, he has the ceiling to become one of the best players in his position someday which makes him a good option for the Madrid giants to consider in the long run. However, Ancelotti would have to be patient with his progress before he can unlock the best out of the youngster at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
