Victor Osimhen of Napoli likes Chelsea and wants to play for them in the Premier League as per John Obi Mikel. Osimhen, who has 72 goals in 122 outings for Napoli, has attracted the interest of Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain for the upcoming summer transfer window.
John Obi Mikel on Victor Osimhen
Former Chelsea player John Obi Mikel said that Victor Osimhen from Napoli wants to join Chelsea before the summer transfer season starts. Osimhen, a 25-year-old striker from Nigeria, is likely to leave Napoli after this season. He recently told the media that he’s already made up his mind about his next move. He signed a new contract with Napoli in December, which includes a clause allowing him to leave for around €120-130 million. Osimhen has been connected to many English Premier League teams for a summer transfer, such as Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United. Paris Saint-Germain is also interested in him, considering him as a possible replacement for Kylian Mbappe.
Talking to Ben Jacobs, Mikel said that living in London is nicer, and he’s trying to help Osimhen join Chelsea. He joked that he should get 20% of the deal since he’s acting like Osimhen’s agent for the transfer.
“I think there is genuine interest between both. He loves the club, he wants to come to the club. Obviously he wants to follow my footsteps as a Nigerian player who has played for Chelsea. London is a fantastic city, instead of going to Liverpool, places like that. I’m still Osimhen’s agent when trying to get him to Chelsea. I’ve got 20% of that deal, so I hope it works out!” Mikel said.

Victor Osimhen signed a new contract with Napoli this season, but it’s said that there’s a clause in it. According to GOAL, the clause is around £100 million.
Meanwhile, Napoli’s boss Aurelio De Laurentiis said he can’t stop Osimhen from leaving this summer because of the release clause, which is for a lot of money.
“Victor is another good player that Napoli have. We had [Edinson] Cavani, [Gonzalo] Higuain, [Ezequiel] Lavezzi and we had [Dries] Mertens, we had a lot of people who were fantastic,” he said.
“He has a release clause. It’s a very big amount of money,” he added.
