In a recent report, Tutto Mercato Web stated that West Ham United are keen on landing Roma midfielder Edoardo Bove this summer. It is believed that the Hammers are showing interest in acquiring the services of the Italian midfield ace in the upcoming transfer window.
Bove’s Impressive Season In Serie A
Bove is having a solid campaign at the Italian club as he has managed to put in a handful of impressive performances for them in the middle of the park. The 21-year-old has found the back of the net once and grabbed two assists in 32 matches for Roma this season across multiple competitions.
The Italian sensation has caught the eye at times in European football based on his average of 2.7 tackles, 0.7 interceptions and 0.7 shots per game in the UEFA Europa League He has even been accurate when distributing the ball from midfield after making 83.4% of his attempted passes in European football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Roma will run out in the summer of 2028 which would make it tough for the Hammers to get a deal done for him at the end of this season.
Should West Ham United Boss David Moyes Move In For Bove?
Bove is a solid tackler of the ball and can make a few important interceptions for his team when he is playing with confidence on the pitch. He can shoot the ball with power from long range but needs to find a way to be more productive in the opponent’s half.
The Italian talent is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also function as a defensive midfielder or an attacking midfielder if told to do so. He is already good enough to challenge for a regular starting spot at West Ham if David Moyes can find a way to get him on board later this year.
Bove would bring more energy and dynamism to the East London club‘s midfield. He might even help the Hammers compete across all fronts in the future. At 21, the Italian has the potential to become a world-class midfielder someday. Hence, Moyes would be wise to move in for him when the transfer window commences in the summer.
