In a recent report, Fichajes revealed that Arsenal have identified Chelsea speedster Mykhailo Mudryk as a target for the summer transfer window. It has been mentioned that the Gunners are showing interest in the gifted winger ahead of a potential move for him later this year.
Mudryk’s Up-And-Down Season In English Football
Mudryk is having a tough campaign at Stamford Bridge as he has struggled to earn regular first-team starts at the West London club. The 23-year-old has scored four goals and grabbed three assists in 26 matches for the Blues this season in all competitions.
The Ukraine international has made most of his appearances off the bench which explains why he is only averaging 0.8 shots, 0.8 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He has even been careful when distributing the ball in the final third based on his pass completion rate of 76.3% in the top tier of English football (stats via whoscored).
Mudryk’s current contract at the West London club will expire in the summer of 2031, so the Gunners would have to make a big offer if they are serious about signing him at the end of this season.
What Will Mudryk Bring To Arsenal?
Mudryk is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can use his quickness to get the better of his marker out in the wide areas. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the eye to create the odd chance for his teammates when he is playing well on the pitch.
However, the Ukraine international has struggled to find consistency with his performances for Chelsea this season. Thus, he might welcome a change of scenery in search of more playing opportunities in the coming seasons.
Mudryk would bring more pace and firepower to Mikel Arteta’s attack. He is good enough to offer some healthy competition for Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard at the North London club. The Ukraine sensation might also help the Gunners compete across all fronts in the future.
At 23, the best is yet to come from Mudryk, so Arteta should consider moving in for him as the Arsenal boss could unlock the best out of the talented wide player at the Emirates Stadium over the next few years.
