In a recent report, The Daily Telegraph mentioned that West Ham United are hoping to move in for Bournemouth forward Dominic Solanke. It has been claimed that the Hammers have identified the English striker as a target for the summer transfer window.
Solanke’s Impressive Run Of Form In Premier League Football This Season
Solanke has enjoyed a rich vein of form at the Vitality Stadium during this campaign after putting in a lot of productive displays for the Cherries in front of the opponent’s goal. The English talent has found the back of the net 16 times and earned four assists in 28 appearances for Bournemouth this season in various competitions.
The 26-year-old has given a good account of himself in the final third as he is averaging 3.2 shots, 0.9 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has even been distributed possession relatively well based on his pass completion rate of 75.1% in the English top-flight (stats via whoscored).
His current deal at Bournemouth will expire in the summer of 2027. Hence, the Hammers would have to launch a convincing offer if they want to sign the English centre-forward at the end of this campaign.
Is Solanke A Good Fit For West Ham United?
Solanke can engineer some space for himself to get some shots in at goal. He has proven his worth as a decent finisher in the final third with his performances at Bournemouth this season. The English sensation can make some inviting chances for his teammates up top and is usually clever with his movements in and around the opponent’s penalty box.
At the moment, Solanke is enjoying his football at the Vitality Stadium, so it won’t be easy for the Hammers to lure him to the London Stadium in the summer. Still, there is no denying that the Bournemouth ace would add a lot of goals to West Ham‘s attack.
At 26, Solanke will only get better in the coming seasons. Hence, he would be a great fit for the East London club‘s needs right now. Solanke is good enough to offer some healthy competition for Michail Antonio at West Ham United in the future. Thus, the Hammers should consider bringing him on board soon.
