In a recent report, Football.London stated that Tottenham Hotspur could move in for Coventry City midfielder Callum O’Hare in the summer. It has been mentioned that Spurs are eyeing a move for the English attacker but could face competition in the form of Burnley, Leicester City and Southampton in pursuit of him.
O’Hare’s Impressive Run Of Form In The EFL Championship
O’Hare has enjoyed a decent campaign at the West Midlands club after putting in a few eye-catching displays for them in the final third. The 25-year-old has scored nine times and picked up three assists in 20 matches for the Sky Blues this season across all competitions.
The Solihull-born sensation has been a decent performer in the opponent’s half as he is averaging 1.4 shots, 1.4 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in the EFL Championship. He has even been tidy when distributing possession in the attacking end of the field based on his pass success rate of 85.3% in the second tier of English football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Coventry City will run out at the end of this campaign which could open the door for Spurs to sign him on a free transfer in the summer.
Is O’Hare A Decent Fit For Tottenham Hotspur Boss Angelos Postecoglu?
O’Hare is a decent striker of the ball and can make a few decent plays for his teammates in and around the opponent’s penalty box. He can also make some driving runs with the ball in the final third. The English talent mainly operates in the number ten position but can also play as a box-to-box midfielder if told to do so.
O’Hare would add more firepower to Tottenham‘s frontline if Angelos Postecoglu can devise a way to snap him up on a free transfer in the summer. At 25, he has his best years ahead of him which makes him a good fit for Spurs‘ needs in the long run.
O’Hare is good enough to serve as a good rotational piece in Postecoglu’s match-day squad. Thus, the North London giants should focus on going all out to bring the English playmaker to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium later this year.
