In a recent report, Defensa Central’s Real Madrid Exclusivo mentioned that Real Madrid are prepared to move in for Sevilla full-back Juanlu Sanchez in the summer. It has been stated that Los Blancos are planning to use Sergio Arribas as a makeweight to land the Spanish talent at the end of this season.
Sanchez’s Impressive Form In La Liga This Season
Sanchez has proven himself to be a valuable contributor at the Spanish club after putting in a handful of impressive displays on the right side of their defence. The Spanish defender has featured in 27 matches for the Andalusian outfit during this campaign, netting one goal and grabbing three assists on all fronts.
The 20-year-old has been a consistent performer from the right flank as he is averaging 2.6 tackles, 0.6 interceptions, 1.2 clearances, 0.6 shots, 1.0 key passes and 1.2 dribbles per game in La Liga. He has even distributed possession relatively well based on his pass success rate of 83.8% in league football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Sevilla will expire in the summer of 2026. Hence, Real Madrid would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting Sanchez at the end of this campaign.
Is Sanchez A Decent Choice For Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti?
Sanchez is a good tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t hesitate to put his foot through the ball when needed and is even proficient at playing his way out from the back.
The Spaniard can create the odd chance for his teammates in the final third and is a decent dribbler with the ball as well. He is primarily a right-back but can also fill in as a winger on either flank if asked to do so.
We can expect Sanchez to add more quality to Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s defence. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting spot at the Madrid club in the coming seasons. At 20, the future looks quite promising for the Spanish right-back, so he would be a great option for Los Blancos to pursue in the long run.
