In a recent report, Sport BILD (via Sport Witness) claimed that Newcastle United are showing interest in Hoffenheim midfielder Anton Stach. It has been revealed that the Magpies have identified the German talent as a target for the summer transfer window.
Stach’s Good Form In Bundesliga This Season
Stach has enjoyed a solid campaign at the German club so far after he put in a series of impressive performances for them at the centre of the park. The German midfield ace has participated in 21 matches for Hoffenheim this season, netting one goal and grabbing one assist in various competitions.
The 25-year-old has been a decent performer in both halves as he is averaging 3.1 tackles, 2.8 interceptions, 2.1 clearances, 1.4 shots, 0.5 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per game in Bundesliga. He has even distributed possession accurately from midfield based on his pass success rate of 81.4% in the German first division (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the German club will run out in the summer of 2027 which will make it difficult for Newcastle to recruit him on a cut-price deal in the summer.
Is Stach A Decent Option For Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe?
Stach can do a little bit of everything in the middle of the park. He loves a tackle and can make a few important interceptions for his team at the centre of the park. The German talent doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and can even strike the ball with venom from long range. He is a good dribbler with the ball as well but needs to find a way to be more productive in the final third.
At the moment, Stach is playing some of the best football of his career. Therefore, he would be a great option for Newcastle United to consider in the summer transfer window. At 25, the German midfielder will only get better as he matures as a footballer in the coming years.
Stach will bring more quality and depth to Eddie Howe‘s midfield department. Thus, the Magpies should focus on going all out to acquire his services at the end of this season as long as they can get him for a fair price.
