In a recent report, Relevo mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are keen on recruiting Barcelona winger Raphinha next summer. It has been stated that Spurs are eager to bring the Brazilian talent back to the Premier League at the end of this season.
Raphinha’s Decent Run Of Form In Spanish Football This Season
Raphinha has enjoyed a decent campaign at the Nou Camp as he has put in a run of productive displays for Barca in the final third. The 27-year-old has registered four goals and secured seven assists in 20 matches for the Catalan club this season across all competitions.
The Brazilian sensation has been a good performer in the opponent’s half based on his average of 2.2 shots, 1.7 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per game in La Liga. He has even been tidy when distributing possession in the final third based on his pass success rate of 79.6% in La Liga (stats via whoscored).
Raphinha is under contract at the Catalan club until the summer of 2027. Therefore, it won’t be easy for Spurs to sign him on the cheap at the end of this campaign.
Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Angelos Postecoglu Move In For Raphinha?
Raphinha is a decent dribbler with the ball and can make a few dangerous runs out in the wide areas. He has got the vision to engineer a few promising chances for his teammates in the final third and can shoot the ball with power and accuracy from long range. Raphinha is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also function as a left-winger if asked to do so by his manager. He already knows the Premier League well from his time at Leeds and won’t take much time to settle into life in England.
We can expect the Brazilian talent to bring more pace and goals to Tottenham head coach Angelos Postecoglu’s attack. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting spot at the North London club in the coming seasons.
Thus, it makes sense for Spurs to move in for Raphinha in the summer as he could help the London outfit compete for some major honours over the next few years. At 27, he is about to enter his prime soon which makes him an excellent option for Tottenham to pursue later this year.
