Barcelona will lock horns with Deportivo Alaves at Mendizorrotza this Saturday evening as they look to earn maximum points on the road in La Liga. The Catalan club managed to grind out a narrow 1-0 victory over Osasuna recently, so they would be confident ahead of this game versus Alaves.
Xavi will opt for the 4-3-3 formation and could make a couple of changes to his starting XI for this game. Both Andreas Christensen and Fermin Lopez will get an opportunity to make an impact from the start of this La Liga clash.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Alaves
Defence
Inaki Pena will continue to operate in goal for the Catalan club after keeping a clean sheet in his last outing. Ronald Araujo will play alongside Andreas Christensen at the centre of the Barca backline as they look to keep the Alaves attackers frustrated throughout the game.
Jules Kounde will be a nailed-on starter at right-back while Joao Cancelo looks to make a difference on the other side as the left-back. Xavi would instruct both of them to push on in support of the front players during this clash.
Hector Fort will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Frenkie de Jong, Pedri and Ilkay Gundogan will make up Xavi’s midfield three as they try to win the 50-50 duels at the centre of the park and orchestrate some clear-cut chances for Barca to win this contest.
Oriol Romeu will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if needed.
Attack
Fermin Lopez will try to prove his value at the left-winger while Lamine Yamal looks to give a good account of himself on the right flank. Robert Lewandowski will lead the charge for the Catalan giants down the middle. The Polish striker would be hungry to find the back of the net after failing to do so against Osasuna.
Vitor Roque will have to be content with a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the latter stages if Barca are in need of a goal by then.
