Aston Villa will face off against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane this Saturday evening as they try to grind out a good result on their travels in the Premier League. The Villans suffered a poor 3-1 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United recently, so they would be eager to put in a much-improved showing this weekend.
Unai Emery will set his men up in a 4-4-2 formation once again and is expected to keep changes to a minimum for this game. Thus, Ollie Watkins will lead the line along with Moussa Diaby up top.
4-4-2 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup To Face Sheffield United
Defence
Emiliano Martinez will operate in goal for the Villans after conceding three goals in his last league appearance. Clement Lenglet will continue to function alongside Ezri Konsa at the centre of the Aston Villa defence as they look to keep things tidy inside their half during the game.
Matty Cash will hope to catch the eye as the right-back while Alex Moreno tries to put in a good showing as the left-back. Both of them need to pick and choose their moments to express themselves in the Sheffield United half.
Calum Chambers will provide cover for the centre-back positions on the bench.
Midfield
Douglas Luiz will anchor the midfield alongside Boubacar Kamara as they try to get a foothold in the game at the centre of the park. Youri Tielemans will fill in as the left-sided wide player while John McGinn looks to put in another energetic display on the right flank.
Nicolo Zaniolo will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if Emery decides to call upon their services.
Attack
Ollie Watkins and Moussa Diaby will spearhead Aston Villa’s attack in the final third. Both of them will need to figure out a way to cause a lot of problems for the home team, especially on the counter.
Leon Bailey will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter if required. However, Jhon Duran will be sidelined for this Premier League game due to injury.
