In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Aston Villa are eyeing a late move for Sevilla centre-forward Youssef En-Nesyri. It has been mentioned that the Villans are hoping to seal a late move for the Moroccan striker who could be sold by the Andalusian club this winter.
En-Nesyri’s Recent Form In La Liga
En-Nesyri has struggled to find consistency with his performances as the focal point of Sevilla’s attack during this campaign. The Moroccan sensation has scored nine goals and picked up a couple of assists in 25 matches for the Andalusian outfit this season in all competitions.
The 26-year-old has failed to be productive in the final third based on his average of 2.1 shots, 0.3 key passes and 0.1 dribbles per game in La Liga. He has also lacked quality when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half based on his pass success rate of 67.7% in the Spanish first division (stats via whoscored).
En-Nesyri is under contract at the Spanish club until the end of next season. Hence, Aston Villa would have to make a good offer if they want to get him on board in this winter transfer window.
What Will En-Nesyri Add To Aston Villa Boss Unai Emery’s Team?
En-Nesyri is proficient at finding some space for himself to get a few shots in at goal. He has proven his worth as a decent goal-getter up top but needs to find a way to contribute in other meaningful ways in the attacking end of the field.
We can expect the Moroccan talent to add more goals to Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery’s attack. He has what it takes to rival Ollie Watkins for a regular starting spot at Villa Park in the coming years. After all, there is no proven No. 9 to really get the job done for Villa if Watkins is unavailable or injured.
At 26, En-Nesyri has his best years ahead of him which makes him a worthy target for the Villans to pursue this January or at the end of this campaign. He has got a wealth of experience at the highest level and could be a real asset in Emery’s squad over the next few years. However, there are some concerns over whether En-Nesyri can adapt to the physical style and high intensity of English football if the Villans do manage to sign him.
