Everton will entertain Luton Town at Goodison Park this Saturday afternoon as they look to secure a victory in front of their home fans in the FA Cup. The Toffees managed to earn a narrow 1-0 win over Crystal Palace recently which would give them some confidence going into this game.
Sean Dyche will set his players up in a 4-5-1 formation and is expected to name a strong first XI for this game. Arnaut Danjuma and Lewis Dobbin will both get a chance to impress from the start of this cup contest.
4-5-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Luton Town
Defence
Joao Virginia will operate in between the sticks for the Toffees as he looks to earn a clean sheet at Merseyside this weekend. James Tarkowski will play alongside Jarrad Branthwaite at the centre of the Everton backline as they try to keep the Luton attackers at bay this Saturday.
Nathan Patterson will function as the right-back while Vitaliy Myokolenko looks to catch the eye on the other side as the left-back. Dyche would ask both of them to be more adventurous than usual so that they can engineer some promising chances in the final third.
Jordan Pickford will have to settle for a spot on the bench alongside Michael Keane.
Midfield
Lewis Dobbin, Amadou Onana and James Garner will anchor the midfield for Everton as they try to win the 50-50 battles in the middle of the park. All three of them would have to move the ball well if they want to engineer some decent chances in the final third.
Arnaut Danjuma will try to put his pace to good use on the left flank while Jark Harison hopes to catch the eye as the right-sided winger. Both of them would be given the freedom to express themselves in the Luton half.
Andre Gomes is unlikely to recover in time for this game.
Attack
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will lead the line for the Merseyside club up top. The English forward would have to carry most of the goal-scoring burden for Everton in the final third.
Beto will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if required.
