Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has made it clear that John Terry is going nowhere. Terry has been linked with a move to Bournemouth.
Chelsea recently recalled Nathan Ake from his loan spell from the Cherries. Ake had been exceptional for them in the season. Bournemouth coach Eddie Howe wanted to rope in the Terry on loan as well.
Terry hasn’t been involved for Chelsea. The Blues captain has missed a long part of the season due to injury. The veteran defender hasn’t found himself in the three men defence as Conte has preferred Gary Cahill, Cesar Azpilicueta and David Luiz over him.
The Italian gaffer said, “John is an important player for this team, for this squad, for me.
“His work on the pitch, his work in the changing room outside is fantastic. This shows he’s a great player, but also a great man, and for me it’s fantastic to have a person like him to help me in my first season in Chelsea.
“For this reason, I repeat, John stays with us, is our player, is in my squad. And when I see the situation I want and he deserves to play, he’ll play. He remains a really important player for me.”
