Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has claimed that Liverpool are emerging as a big powerhouse under Jurgen Klopp. The Reds are scheduled to face Manchester United today.
Since Jurgen Klopp has been handed the job at Anfield the Reds have upturned their form. Klopp guided the Reds to two cup finals in his maiden season at England.
Liverpool lost to Sevilla in the Europa Cup semifinal while Manchester City got the better of them in the League Cup final.
In this season also they have emerged as potential title contenders. Klopp’s attacking football has led Liverpool to score 48 goals so far and they are currently in the second place.
Ferdinand who almost spent his entire career at Manchester United said, “With the team that Klopp is building, the expectations are rising around Liverpool.
“Expectations are nothing new for Jose Mourinho or United.
“They’re great to watch “They play with verve; they have a direct, aggressive, quick, attacking mentality and attack in numbers. No matter which club you support, Liverpool under Klopp are a very good team to watch and that makes them dangerous.
“They’re going to win games 3-2 or 4-3 and while I think, defensively, they have an Achilles heel, if they’re going to outscore teams then they’re going to be a big threat.”
