West Ham United will face off against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane this Sunday afternoon as they look to secure a good result on their travels in the Premier League. The Hammers suffered a narrow 1-0 loss against Bristol City recently which knocked them out of the FA Cup. Hence, they would be eager to bounce back by putting in a good showing versus the Blades this weekend.
David Moyes will opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make some changes to his first XI for this game. Divin Mubama and Ben Johnson will get a chance to play from the start of this clash.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Sheffield United
Defence
Alphonso Areola will function in between the sticks for the Hammers after being rested against Bristol City. Kurt Zouma will get a chance to impress alongside Konstantinos Mavropanos at the centre of the West Ham backline as they try to keep things tidy inside their half throughout the 90 minutes.
Vladimir Coufal will try to give a good account of himself at right-back while Emerson Palmieri fills in on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to perform their defensive duties well if they are to restrict the home team from causing problems from the wide areas.
Midfield
James Ward-Prowse will play along with Tomas Soucek as they try to win the 50-50 duels at the centre of the park. Both of them would have to move the ball well if they want to engineer some decent chances in the final third.
The talented trio of Ben Johnson, Divin Mubama and Maxwel Cornet will operate just ahead of them as part of Moyes’ attack.
Both Pablo Fornals (foot injury) and Said Benrahma (suspension) will be sidelined for this game.
Attack
Danny Ings will once again lead the line for the Hammers on the offensive end of the field. He failed to register a goal in his last appearance and is struggling to play with confidence at the moment.
Callum Marshall will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if the Hammers are in need of a goal by then.
