In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Barcelona are planning an ambitious move for Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland. It has been mentioned that the Catalan club are prepared to rival Real Madrid in the race to land the Norway international.
Haaland’s Impressive Run Of Form In English Football
Haaland has enjoyed another great campaign at the Etihad Stadium as he has produced a string of productive displays for Man City in the final third. The Leeds-born talent has banged in 19 goals and picked up five assists in 22 matches for the Mancunian outfit this season across all fronts.
The Norwegian talent has led the line for the Mancunian club up top and deserves a ton of credit for averaging 3.9 shots and 1.1 key passes per 90 minutes in the Premier League. However, he needs to find a way to improve his ball distribution after completing only 74.4% of his attempted passes in the top tier of English football (stats via whoscored).
Haaland’s current deal at the Etihad will run out in the summer of 2027. Hence, it won’t be easy for Barca to find the funds to pull of such a blockbuster transfer in the future.
Is Haaland A Dream Choice For Barcelona?
Haaland is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in on-target. He can be a lethal finisher in front of the opponent’s goal and usually generates a lot of power with his shot attempts. The Norwegian sensation can even set up the odd chance for his teammates up top. However, as mentioned earlier, he has to work on improving his link-up play in the opponent’s half.
Haaland would undeniably add plenty of firepower to Barcelona head coach Xavi’s attack. He has what it takes to make Barca the favorites to win the La Liga title next season. At 23, the Norwegian talent will only get better with each season which makes him a worthy target for the Catalan club to pursue for the long run.
All in all, there is no doubt that Haaland would be a dream choice for Barca to consider at the end of this campaign. However, it remains to be seen whether he can be a realistic target for the Catalan club due to their recent financial concerns.
