Arsenal is firm about keeping Emile Smith Rowe on the team, even though coach Mikel Arteta rarely uses him in games. Despite Arsenal’s struggles to score goals this season, they do not want to sell Smith Rowe during the winter. If he receives the proper coaching, the club believes he has the potential to become a superstar. Smith Rowe has appeared in 107 games for Arsenal, scoring 18 goals and assisting on 12 others.
Emile Smith Rowe once said he’ll never leave Arsenal
Emile Smith Rowe wants to stay with Arsenal for his whole career and not play for any other club. He signed a contract with Arsenal for five more years in 2021.
“If Arsenal want me for the rest of my career, then I am going to stay here forever. It is always difficult [to stay at one club for your career], but for me personally I’d love to be here forever,” he said back then.
“For me, playing for Arsenal, growing up an Arsenal fan and my family around me, it was easy. Growing up in London, I didn’t want to move out of London. It was probably one of the easiest decisions I’ve made,” he added.

Smith Rowe, who started at Arsenal’s academy when he was 10, became an important player for Mikel Arteta in 2021. Aston Villa tried to buy him for £30 million, but Arsenal made sure he stayed by giving him a contract until 2026 and the No10 shirt.
The 23-year-old played in only one Premier League match this season and was in six top-flight games. Smith Rowe had a knee injury and mostly sat on the bench or played briefly in some matches. Arteta doesn’t want Smith Rowe to leave Arsenal unless he wants to go. Chelsea asked about him in the summer, but Arsenal said no.
Newcastle United was interested in getting Smith Rowe in the January transfer window, but it seems like he will stay with his current team for now.
