Dragusin’s Good Run of Form In Serie A
The 21-year-old has experienced a decent campaign at the Serie A club as he has produced a series of solid performances at the heart of their backline. Dragusin has registered two goals and picked up one assist in 21 appearances for Genoa this season in all competitions.
The Romanian talent has been a reliable performer on the defensive end of the pitch and has done well to average 0.8 tackles, 1.0 interceptions and 4.6 clearances per game in Serie A. He has even been careful when distributing the ball from inside his half after completing 82.5% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Italian football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Genoa will run out in the summer of 2027 which would make it tough for Tottenham to get a deal done for him on the cheap before the end of this month.
What Will Dragusin Bring To Tottenham Hotspur?
Dragusin is a tough-tackling defender who can scan the danger to earn possession back for his side on the defensive end of the field. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when required and excels at playing his way out from the back.
Standing at 1.91m, the Romania international can be a towering presence inside his half. He is primarily a central defender but can also operate as a full-back on either flank if told to do so.
Dragusin would bring more bite and steel to Tottenham head coach Angelos Postecoglu’s defence. He has what it takes to nail down a regular starting spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Hence, Spurs would be wise to go all out to bring him on board before the end of this January transfer window.
At 21, the future looks quite promising for Dragusin. However, it remains to be seen whether the Genoa talent can maintain his good form in the Premier League if Postecoglu manages to snap him up this winter.
