Barcelona will face off against Las Palmas at the Gran Canaria Stadium this Thursday night as they hope to secure a positive result in La Liga. The Catalan club managed to earn a hard-fought 3-2 win over Almeria before the winter break which should give them some confidence going into this game.
Xavi will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and could keep changes to a minimum for this game. Andreas Christensen will play from the start of this game while Jules Kounde has to settle for a spot on the bench.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Las Palmas
Defence
Inaki Pena will continue to feature in between the sticks for Barca after shipping in two goals in his last league outing. Andreas Christensen will resume his defensive partnership with Ronald Araujo as they try to keep things solid inside their half during the 90 minutes.
Joao Cancelo will be a nailed-on starter at right-back while Alejandro Balde looks to give a good account of himself on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them would be eager to get forward and join in on the attack at every chance they get.
Jules Kounde will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Sergi Roberto, Ilkay Gundogan and Fermin Lopez will make up Barca’s midfield as they focus on winning the 50-50 duels at the centre of the park. All three of them need to move the ball well if they want to create some clear-cut chances in the final third.
Oriol Romeu will be named on the bench as he waits for his opportunity to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Joao Felix will get a chance to impress as the left-sided wide player while Raphinha hopes to prove his worth on the right flank. Robert Lewandowski will spearhead Xavi’s attack down the middle. The Polish forward failed to score against Almeria, so we can expect him to be keen on causing problems for the Las Palmas defenders this Thursday night.
Ferran Torres has to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Barca are in need of a goal by then.
