Brazilian midfielder Oscar has claimed that it was very easy to choose Shanghai SIPG over Chelsea. The 25-year-old signed for the Chinese Super League club for a reported fee of €60m.
The 25-year-old came from Brazilian club Internacional when he was a 20 year kid. The midfielder wasn’t used much this season by Antonio Conte since he opted to play with 3-4-3. Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante has been preferred in the midfield over him.
The Chinese League has attracted a number of players by luring them with handsome wages. Ex-Chelsea midfielder Ramires and defender Ricardo Carvalho also plying their trade in China.
Oscar is earning a mammoth £400,000 a week and said that he joined the club because he liked the project. He said, “I think it wasn’t difficult because the project [SIPG] showed me was really cool.
“They are wanting to bring new players and I was the youngest.
“Although I was only 25 years old, I had been at Chelsea for five years so I was there long enough.
“And the China project… their league is really cool and I was very happy.”
