“I will assist other team mates” – Leandro Trossard on Arsenal teammate Bukayo Saka

Leandro Trossard discussed how his bond with Bukayo Saka helped him join Arsenal and perform well on the field. Despite not starting many games this season, Trossard assisted on eight goals. Saka made six amazing passes that resulted in these goals. Saka is superb at putting the ball to the back post, and Trossard is always ready to score after receiving one of Saka’s excellent passes.

Trossard had an exciting start to the year. He moved from Brighton & Hove Albion to Arsenal on January 20 and played his first game against Manchester United, which Arsenal won 3-2. Trossard has been doing well all season, scoring important goals against Everton and Chelsea in the Premier League. He scored Arsenal’s 1,000th goal at Emirates Stadium in a 3-1 win against Burnley and also scored a great goal in his first Champions League game from 18 yards away.

He is really happy in north London, and he thinks his good first year is because he got used to Arsenal quickly. Players like Bukayo Saka helped him a lot to feel comfortable.

He recently spoke about his friendship with Saka.

“I don’t know why but every time B is on the ball, I just know I need to make a movement or come close to him. Against Burnley recently, I just gambled on him winning the header and he did – and that’s why I got the goal,” Trossard said.

“I get along with B really well. He’s such a lovely guy and always down to earth. You can speak to him about everything and it’s nice to chat to him. I always try to get in the right positions and, so far, it’s been B who has set up my goals. But I’m sure there will be someone else in the next games or that I will assist other team-mates,” he added.

He also said his grandad encouraged him and helped him get better at using his left foot. This was important for him to join Arsenal.

“My grandad really inspired me, especially when I was younger. He always used to say that if you want to be a top player, you need to develop both feet. He said you have to be two-footed, and he helped me with that. He lived nearby, and whenever I stayed with him, he would always take me out to practice with him,” he further added.
