Newcastle United will clash heads with Luton Town at Kenilworth Road this Saturday afternoon as they look to collect maximum points on their travels in the Premier League. The Magpies suffered a defeat on penalties against Chelsea recently which knocked them out of the EFL Cup. Hence, the Tyneside club would be desperate to bounce back with a win this weekend.
Eddie Howe will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make a few tweaks to his first XI. Both Kieran Trippier and Dan Burn will get an opportunity to impress from the start of this clash.
4-3-3 Newcastle United Predicted Lineup To Face Luton Town
Defence
Martin Dubravka will feature in goal for the Magpies after shipping in one goal in normal time versus Chelsea in the EFL Cup. Jamaal Lascelles will resume his centre-back partnership with Dan Burn as they try to keep a good shape at the back during the 90 minutes.
Kieran Trippier will be named as the right-back while Tino Livramento looks to impress on the other side as the left-back. Both of them would have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Emil Krafth is a slight worry ahead of this game but should be fit to start on the bench as he provides cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Sean Longstaff, Bruno Guimaraes and Lewis Miley will make up Howe’s midfield as they try to dominate the ball at the centre of the park and engineer enough chances for Newcastle to win this contest.
Matt Ritchie will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if needed.
Attack
Anthony Gordon will get a chance to play on the left flank if he can recover in time for this game. Miguel Almiron is expected to weave his magic from the right wing. Callum Wilson will lead the charge for the Magpies down the middle.
Alexander Isak is a major doubt for this game. However, Lewis Hall should be available for selection on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the final stages of the contest if required.
