Manchester City will welcome Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday as they look to earn all three points at home in the Premier League. The Mancunian club secured a hard-fought 3-2 win away at Crvena Zvezda recently which should keep them in high spirits ahead of this game.
Pep Guardiola will set his men up in a 3-2-2-3 formation once again and is expected to revert to his strongest XI for this game. Julian Alvarez will spearhead Man City’s attack in the final third.
3-2-2-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Crystal Palace
Defence
Ederson should return in goal for Man City after being rested in midweek. Guardiola could choose to go with a back three of Josko Gvardiol, Ruben Dias and Kyle Walker as they try to keep the Palace attackers quiet during the 90 minutes.
Manuel Akanji will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Rodri and John Stones will try to offer decent cover for their teammates at the back. Both of them need to pass the ball well if Man City want to secure a convincing win this weekend.
Mateo Kovacic and Phil Foden will operate as the free-flowing attacking midfielders in the opponent’s half. Both of them will have to shoulder some of the creative burden for the Mancunian giants in the final third.
Matheus Nunes will have to be content with a spot on the bench as he waits for his opportunity to impress in the second half if needed. However, Jeremy Doku is a slight concern ahead of this game.
Attack
Jack Grealish will try to catch the eye as the left-sided wide player while Bernardo Silva hopes to give a good account of himself on the right flank. Julian Alvarez will lead the charge for Man City in the attacking third of the pitch. The Argentine talent got a well-deserved rest in midweek and would be fresh for this clash at the Etihad.
Erling Haaland is unlikely to recover in time for this game. However, Oscar Bobb and Micah Hamilton could be named on the bench after both of them managed to find the back of the net against Crvena Zvezda earlier this week.
