In a recent segment on Youtube, transfer expert Steve Kay mentioned that Arsenal are big admirers of Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz. Kay said,

Luiz has anchored the midfield with conviction for the Midlands club as he has been responsible for putting in a series of impressive performances in the Premier League. The Brazilian talent has scored six times and picked up a couple of assists in 19 matches for Aston Villa this season across all competitions.
The 25-year-old has proved his worth at the centre of the park by averaging 2.3 tackles, 0.8 clearances, 1.7 shots, 1.2 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per game in the Premier League. He has even been tidy when distributing possession from midfield after completing 88.4% of his attempted passes in the English top flight (stats via whoscored).

Luiz is a tough-tackling midfielder who can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. At the moment, Luiz is playing some of the best football of his Aston Villa career. Hence, Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta would be wise to try everything in his power to lure him to the North London club next year.
