In a recent report, The Daily Mirror mentioned that West Ham United are eager to sign Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke. It has been claimed that the Hammers are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the English talent in the upcoming transfer window.
Solanke’s Impressive Record In The Premier League This Season
Solanke is having a productive campaign at the Vitality Stadium as he has put in a handful of impressive performances at the centre of Bournemouth’s defence. The 26-year-old has scored seven times and earned one assist in 15 matches for the Cherries this season in various competitions.
The Basingstoke-born sensation has led the line relatively well based on his average of 2.8 shots, 1.0 key passes and 0.9 dribbles per game in the Premier League. He has even been careful when linking up play in the final third as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 80.1% in the English top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Bournemouth will run out in the summer of 2027. Therefore, the Hammers will have to make a good offer if they want to bring Solanke next year.
What Will Solanke Add To West Ham United Boss David Moyes’ Side?
Solanke is proficient at finding some space for himself to get a few strikes in on-target. He usually generates some power with his shot attempts and can be a decent finisher in front of the opponent’s goal. The English talent can even create the odd chance for others around him and is a good dribbler with the ball as well.
We can expect Solanke to add more goals and pace to West Ham’s defence. He has got the skillset to be a success story at the London Stadium. David Moyes has got the experience to unlock the best out of Solanke at the East London club in the coming seasons.
At 26, the English talent has got his prime years ahead of him which makes him a decent option for the Hammers to pursue when the transfer window commences at the start of January. He already knows the Premier League well by now and won’t take much time to settle into life in the English capital if Moyes can devise a way to bring him on board soon.
