In a recent report, The Athletic mentioned that Wolverhampton Wanderers are ready to offer Hwang Hee-chan a new contract. It has been claimed that the Midlands club are willing to extend the South Korean striker’s deal.
Hwang’s Decent Run Of Form In The Premier League
Hwang is enjoying a productive campaign at the Molineux Stadium after he put in a handful of fruitful displays for Wolves in the final third. The 27-year-old has found the back of the net on seven occasions and picked up a couple of assists in 13 matches for his current club this season in various competitions.
The South Korea international has led the line well and deserves a lot of credit for averaging 1.5 shots, 0.9 key passes and 1.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He has even been tidy when linking up play with his teammates in the final third after completing 80.7% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Molineux will run out in the summer of 2026. However, it is only fair to the player if Wolves reward him with a new and improved contract.
Wolves Are Ready To Offer Hwang A New Contract: Good Move For Both Parties?
Hwang can create a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He has the vision to orchestrate a few promising chances for his teammates up top and is a good dribbler with the ball as well.
The South Korea international has developed a knack for scoring a few important goals for his team. Therefore, Wolves boss Gary O’Neil should consider keeping hold of him for the long run.
At 27, Hwang is about to enter his prime soon, so extending his contract will be a good move for both the Midlands club and the player as they look to taste some success in the future.
