In a recent report, journalist Pete O’Rourke stated that Newcastle United are eager to sign Stuttgart forward Serhou Guirassy. It has been claimed that the Magpies are showing interest in recruiting the Guinean striker.
Guirassy’s Excellent Record In The Bundesliga This Season
Guirassy has been a joy to watch in the Bundesliga as he has banged in goals for fun for Stuttgart during this campaign. The 27-year-old has scored 16 goals and secured two assists in ten matches for the German outfit this season across multiple competitions.
The Arles-born talent has led the line well for the German club based on his average of 3.7 shots, 1.8 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half after completing 78.8% of his attempted passes in the German first division (stats via whoscored).
Guirassy is under contract at the German club until the summer of 2026 which would make it difficult for the Magpies to recruit the Guinean sensation next year.
What Will Guirassy Bring To Newcastle United?
Guirassy is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in on target. He has proven himself to be a deadly finisher in front of the opponent’s goal during this Bundesliga campaign.
The France-born forward can even create the odd chance for his teammates in and around the opposition penalty box. He is primarily a centre-forward but can also operate as a left-sided wide player if told to do so.
We can expect Guirassy to bring more goals to Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe‘s frontline. He is good enough to rival Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak at the Tyneside club in the coming seasons.
At 27, Guirassy is about to enter his prime soon and could prove himself to be a success story at St. James’ Park in the future. Therefore, Howe should consider going all out to recruit Guirassy during the January transfer window.
