In a recent report, Spazio Napoli revealed that West Ham United are keeping a keen eye on Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski. It has been stated that the Hammers are eyeing a move to bring the Polish midfield ace to the London Stadium next year.
Zielinski’s Impressive Form In Italian Football This Season
Zielinski is having a good campaign at the Naples club as he has put in a series of impressive displays at the centre of the park. The 29-year-old has registered three goals and three assists in 16 matches for the Italian outfit this season in multiple competitions.
The Polish talent has been a decent performer at both ends of the pitch based on his average of 1.3 tackles, 0.6 interceptions, 0.8 clearances, 1.3 shots, 2.7 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per game in Serie A. He has even been excellent when distributing possession from midfield after making 86.1% of his attempted passes in the Italian top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Napoli will run out at the end of this campaign. Hence, West Ham could sign him on the cheap when the transfer window commences at the start of January.
Is Zielinski A Good Choice For West Ham United?
Zielinski is a good tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and excels at playing his way out from midfield. The Polish talent can strike the ball well from long range and is a decent dribbler with the ball as well.
Zielinski will no doubt enhance the quality of West Ham boss David Moyes’ squad. He has what it takes to nail down a regular starting place at the London Stadium next year.
Plus, Zielinski could help the Hammers compete for a major trophy in the coming seasons. Hence, it makes sense for Moyes to try everything in his power to lure the Polish sensation to the East London club on a cut-price deal this January. Zielinski is good enough to make an instant impact at West Ham and would be a great choice for Moyes to pursue in 2024.
