In a recent report, Calciomercato claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are eager to sign Napoli ace Victor Osimhen. It has been stated that Spurs are eyeing a move to sign the Nigerian centre-forward in the upcoming January transfer window.
Osimhen’s Good Run Of Form In Italian Football
Osimhen is enjoying a decent campaign at the Italian club after he put in a series of productive displays as the spearhead of their attack. The 24-year-old has scored six goals and picked up one assist in ten matches for Napoli this season across various competitions.
The Nigerian sensation has led the line well for the Naples club and deserves credit for averaging 4.1 shots, 0.6 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even distributed the ball relatively well based on his pass success rate of 75% in the Italian top-flight (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Napoli will expire in the summer of 2025. Thus, Spurs will have to make a convincing offer if they want to secure Osimhen’s services in the winter transfer period.

Osimhen excels at finding a yard of space for himself inside the opponent’s penalty box and has proven his worth as a decent finisher in the final third. He can even create the odd chance for his teammates and is a good dribbler with the ball as well.
The Nigeria international can use his strong 1.86m frame to win a few headers for his team. However, it remains to be seen whether he can adapt to the physical nature and high intensity of Premier League football.
Osimhen has got what it takes to strengthen the quality of Tottenham‘s first XI as he would bring plenty of firepower to Angelos Postecoglu’s attack. He would also serve as an ideal replacement for Harry Kane who left the North London club to join Bayern Munich last summer.
At 24, the best is yet to come from Osimhen. He might even help Tottenham compete for a major trophy in the coming seasons. Hence, Osimhen would be a dream option for Spurs to consider when the transfer window reopens at the start of next year.
