Newcastle United faced off against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium earlier this evening as they hoped to earn a win on the road in the Premier League. The Magpies made a solid start to the contest but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time interval.
The Tyneside club conceded the opening goal at the hour mark when Dominic Solanke found the back of the net. Solanke doubled the home team’s advantage just 13 minutes later when he scored again to put daylight between the two sides. Eddie Howe’s men ended up losing the contest by a 2-0 scoreline.

The English keeper made a lot of crucial saves at the back but still ended up conceding two goals in the second half.

He was far from convincing when defending inside his half and made one key chance going forward.

Lascelles was a strong presence in the air and was accurate with his passing.

He made a few crucial clearances on the defensive end of the pitch but it was not enough.

Hall got stuck in with a few crunching tackles and was lively in the opponent’s half. He was substituted at half-time.

He failed to offer enough protection for his teammates at the back.
CM: Lewis Miley – 6.5/10
Miley anchored the midfield with conviction but struggled to influence the game in the final third.
CM: Joe Willock – 7/10
Willock was not shy of making a tackle and made a few decent runs with the ball from midfield.
RW: Miguel Almiron – 6/10
He began the game well but had to be replaced in the 30th minute.
ST: Anthony Gordon – 6.5/10
Gordon made two decent runs with the ball but there was no goal for him.
LW: Joelinton – 6/10
Joelinton had two bright moments in the game but never looked like he would find the back of the net.
