Joelinton And Pope Get 7 | Newcastle United Players Rated In Poor Loss Vs Borussia Dortmund

Newcastle United clashed heads with Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park earlier this evening as they hoped to secure a good result on the road in the UEFA Champions League. The Magpies made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 26th minute when Niclas Fullkrug found the back of the net. The Tyneside club went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.

Eddie Howe’s men conceded their second goal in the 79th minute when Julian Brandt got his name on the scoresheet. The match ended with Newcastle suffering a poor 2-0 loss away from home.

LB: Lewis Hall – 6/10

He struggled to get a foothold in the game in the first half and was replaced at half-time.

CM: Sean Longstaff – 6/10

Longstaff tried his best to protect his backline but his efforts were not enough.

He caught the eye at times but offered very little in the Dortmund half.

Willock failed to get a stranglehold in the game and did well to last 80 minutes.
