Eddie Howe will opt for a 4-3-3 formation and could be inclined to make some changes to his first team for this game. Bruno Guimaraes, Miguel Almiron and Dan Burn will all get a chance to play from the start of this contest.

Defence
Nick Pope will function in between the sticks for the Tyneside club after being rested in midweek. Fabian Schar will resume his defensive partnership with Jamaal Lascelles at the centre of Newcastle’s backline as they try to keep the Arsenal attackers frustrated throughout the 90 minutes.
