Newcastle United will entertain Arsenal at St. James’ Park this Saturday evening as they look to grab all three points at home in the Premier League. The Magpies secured an impressive 3-0 win away at Manchester United recently which will give them a confidence boost ahead of this game.
Eddie Howe will opt for a 4-3-3 formation and could be inclined to make some changes to his first team for this game. Bruno Guimaraes, Miguel Almiron and Dan Burn will all get a chance to play from the start of this contest.
4-3-3 Newcastle United Predicted Lineup To Face Arsenal
Defence
Nick Pope will function in between the sticks for the Tyneside club after being rested in midweek. Fabian Schar will resume his defensive partnership with Jamaal Lascelles at the centre of Newcastle’s backline as they try to keep the Arsenal attackers frustrated throughout the 90 minutes.
Kieran Trippier will be a nailed-on starter as the right-back while Dan Burn hopes to give a good account of himself on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them would be eager to make a difference for the Magpies out on the flanks.
Emil Krafth and Paul Dummett will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench after they both played from the start in midweek.
Midfield
Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes and Sean Longstaff will function as Howe’s central midfielders as they focus on winning the 50-50 battles and making life tough for the opposition at the centre of the park. All three of them need to move the ball well if Newcastle are to create enough chances to win this contest.
Attack
Anthony Gordon will try to catch the eye as the left-winger while Miguel Almiron looks to weave his magic from the right flank. Almiron scored the opening goal for Newcastle in midweek which would keep him in good spirits going into this game.
Callum Wilson will lead the line for the Tyneside giants up top. He would be eager to find the back of the net versus the Gunners this weekend.
Amadou Diallo and Matt Ritchie will have to settle for a spot on the bench as they wait for his opportunity to impress in the second 45 minutes if needed.
