Everton will entertain Burnley at Goodison Park this Wednesday night as they try to secure a good result at home in the EFL Cup. The Toffees earned a narrow 1-0 win away at West Ham United recently which will keep them in high spirits ahead of this cup game in midweek.
Sean Dyche will opt for the 4-4-1-1 formation once again and might keep changes to a minimum for this game. Hence, Dominic Calvert-Lewin will spearhead Everton’s attack yet again up top.
4-4-1-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Burnley
Defence
Jordan Pickford will function in goal for the Merseyside club after keeping a clean sheet in his last league outing. James Tarkowski will play alongside Jarrad Branthwaite at the heart of Dyche’s defence as they try to keep the opposition at bay during the game.
Nathan Patterson will be a nailed-on starter at right-back while Vitaliy Mykolenko looks to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Ben Godfrey will be available for selection on the bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Amadou Onana and James Garner will assume the duties of the holding midfielders as they look to win the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park.
Dwight McNeil would hope to put his dribbling ability to good use on the left flank while Jack Harrison fills in as the right-winger.
Idrissa Gueye and Arnaut Danjuma will be named on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second half if Dyche chooses to call upon their services.
Attack
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will lead the charge for the Merseyside club in the final third. He scored the winning goal against West Ham which should give him a confidence boost ahead of this clash at Goodison Park.
Beto will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter if required.
