Liverpool defender Didi Hamann thinks that Manchester United have an edge over Liverpool. United are scheduled to face Liverpool on 15th January.
United are currently on an eight-match winning streak in all competitions and will be looking for the ninth win when they face Hull on Tuesday in the EFL Cup semifinal. United recently displayed some brilliant football as new arrival Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have finally gotten their rhythm while Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been a revelation for the Red Devils as the 35-year-old has netted 13 goals in the English top flight.
On the other hand, Liverpool have lost their momentum slightly as they drew consecutive matches against Sunderland in the League and Plymouth in the FA Cup. A resurgent Plymouth managed to hold the Reds as they forced a replay against one of the mightiest clubs of Europe.
Hamann said, “I think Manchester United have found a bit of form in recent weeks and seem to be a lot more settled and the camp is a lot more happy than they were at the start of the season.
“And in [Sadio] Mane, one of the most influential forward players will be missing for Liverpool.
“So I think United, who nullified Liverpool very well the first time they played at Anfield, may have the edge on Sunday.”
