Manchester City will face off against Young Boys at the Wankdorf Stadium earlier this afternoon as they try to secure a victory on the road in the UEFA Champions League. The Mancunian giants secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion recently which would keep them in high spirits ahead of this game.
Pep Guardiola will set his side up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make some changes to his starting XI for this game. Nathan Ake and Ruben Dias will both get a chance to impress for Man City on the defensive end of the field.
4-2-3-1 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Young Boys
Defence
Ederson will play as Man City’s first-choice keeper after being rested last weekend. Ruben Dias will return to play alongside Nathan Ake at the centre of Guardiola’s defence as they look to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.
Kyle Walker will fill in as the right-back while Josko Gvardiol hopes to catch the eye as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to get forward and express themselves in the final third.
Manuel Akanji will be named on the bench as he provides cover for the centre-back positions.
Midfield
Mateo Kovacic and Rodri will operate as the holding midfielders as they try to get a stranglehold of the game at the centre of the park.
The gifted trio of Jeremy Doku, Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden will function just ahead of them as part of Guardiola’s attack. All three of them need to combine with each other well if Man City are to secure a convincing win in midweek.
Matheus Nunes and Jack Grealish will have to be content with a place on the bench as they wait for their opportunity to make an impact in the second half if needed.
Attack
Erling Haaland will lead the line for Man City on the offensive end of the field. He managed to find the back of the net versus Brighton which will keep him in high spirits ahead of this game.
