Barcelona will welcome Athletic Bilbao at the Nou Camp this Sunday night as they look to secure a positive result at home in La Liga. The Catalan club were held to a 2-2 draw by Granada before the international break, so they would be keen on earning a victory this weekend.
Xavi will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and could make a couple of changes to his first XI for this game. Both Ronald Araujo and Oriol Romeu will be expected to play from the start of this game.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Athletic Bilbao
Defence
Marc-André ter Stegen will operate in goal for the Catalan outfit after shipping in a couple of goals in his last league outing. Ronald Araujo will resume his defensive partnership with Andreas Christensen at the heart of Barcelona’s defence as they look to keep things solid at the back during the game.
Joao Cancelo will fill in as the right-back while Alejandro Balde hopes to catch the eye as the left-back. Both of them would be eager to get forward and join in on the attack at every chance they get.
Marcos Alonso will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Gavi, Oriol Romeu and Ilkay Gundogan will make up Xavi’s midfield as they try to establish their dominance over the opposition at the centre of the park.
Both Gavi and Gundogan will have to carry most of the creative workload for Barca in the opponent’s half.
Sergi Roberto will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if Xavi opts to call upon his services.
Attack
Joao Felix will function as the left-sided wide player while Lamine Yamal looks to catch the eye as the right-winger. Both of them will be instructed to stretch the opponent’s defence and create some decent chances from the wide areas.
Ferran Torres will lead the charge for Barca once again in the final third. He has to find a way to cause a few headaches for the Bilbao defenders this weekend.
Pau Victor will be named on the bench as he waits for his chance to impress in the latter stages if the home team are in need of a goal by then.
