In a recent report, Sport claimed that Barcelona centre-forward Robert Lewandowski is set to be offered a contract extension. It has been stated that the Catalan club are considering a one-year extension of the Polish striker’s contract.

Lewandowski is enjoying a decent campaign at the Nou Camp as he has put in a series of impressive displays for Barca in the final third. The 35-year-old has banged in six goals and grabbed four assists in ten matches for the Catalan outfit this season across all fronts.
The Polish sensation has led the line well and deserves credit for averaging 3.4 shots, 1.0 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga. However, he needs to work on improving his link-up play in the opposition half after making just 71% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Spanish football (stats via whoscored).
Lewandowski is under contract at the Catalan club until the summer of 2026. Hence, it makes sense for Barca to offer him a short-term contract extension.
