In a recent interview with Express & Star, Steve Bull was full of praise for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Hwang Hee-chan. Bull said,
“At the end of last season and start of this season, Hwang hasn’t been playing in the right position, but he’s now playing in the right position and is playing with a smile on his face.
“When you’re a player, you know where you’re best suited and I think the manager has now found Hwang’s position where he’s comfortable and most threatening.
“He’s playing freely, scoring goals and creating goals. He’s come into his own.
“There were doubts in the summer over where Hwang would fit in but he’s in incredible form right now.”
Hwang’s Impressive Record At THe Molineux Stadium
Hwang has made a great start to this league campaign as he has managed to put in a few influential displays as the focal point of Wolves’ attack. The South Korean talent has banged in six goals in nine matches for the Midlands club this season across various competitions.
The 27-year-old has led the line well up top and deserves credit for averaging 1.5 shots and 1.3 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has even interchanged possession well with his teammates in the opponent’s half based on his pass completion rate of 81.5% in the top tier of English football (stats via whoscored).
Does Hwang Have A Bright Future At Wolves?
Hwang can generate a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He can even make a few clever runs with the ball in and around the opponent’s penalty box. The South Korean attacker can be a decent finisher in the final third when he is playing well on the pitch.
Hwang is under contract at Wolves until the summer of 2026. Hence, he has got a bright future at the West Midlands club as long as he continues to improve with each season.
At 27, Hwang will enter his prime soon and could prove to be a real asset in Wolves’ squad over the next few years. He might even help the Midlands giants push for European football in the Premier League over the next few years.
