Real Madrid locked horns with Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano earlier tonight as they looked to earn a positive result in the Madrid derby. Los Blancos made a poor start to the game as they conceded the opening goal in the fourth minute when Alvaro Morata found the back of the net. Antoine Griezmann doubled the home team’s advantage in the 18th minute but Toni Kroos got a goal back for Carlo Ancelotti’s side as they went into the half-time break 2-1 down on the scoreline.
Morata scored again in the 46th minute which put daylight between the two teams. The Madrid derby ended with Real Madrid suffering a poor 3-1 loss away from home.
