Antonio Conte has revealed the actual reason behind calling Nathan Ake back from Loan. Chelsea have recalled the 21-year-old from his loan spell at Bournemouth.
The Dutch defender has impressed in his 12 appearances for the Cherries so far. Ake can play in a number of positions in the defence and Conte could use his versatility in his 3-4-3 formation. The defender can slot in as a centre back and can also play as a left-back and Conte now wants to use him as a wing back.
Marcos Alonso has made the left side his own and the Italian boss wants to bring in some serious competition for him.
Conte said, “I called him back because I think he’s showing that he’s ready to stay in the squad of Chelsea Chelsea is his home.
“In the last season he played with Watford, and this season he was with Bournemouth. He’s shown he deserves to stay at a great team like Chelsea.
“He can play on the left and in the middle. It’s important to see in training sessions if he can also play wing-back.”
