Arsenal have had reportedly a bid rejected for Torino’s Andrea Belotti, the club’s sporting director has confirmed. Belotti is one of Arsene Wenger’s main transfer targets this season.
The Italian side are looking, to offer a minimum of £50m for the striker. The 23-year old has been a sensation this season, scoring 13 goals in 17 Serie A appearances. Olivier Giroud is having a brilliant season but was often kept out from the starting lineup by the French gaffer while Alexis Sanchez is yet to sign on the dotted line and could move out of the club.
The Italian international recently signed a new contract with a buyout clause of £85m and Wenger is not going to pay this much for the service of the player.
Gianluca Petrachi confirmed the development, “Yes, we received the offer, but it does not reflect the value of the player.
“Anyway, he is going nowhere for now. We want to enjoy him, then we’ll see what happens.
“We intend to keep Belotti and President Urbano Cairo signed this important buy-out clause.
“I think he’s worth more than they have offered.”
