In a recent tweet, respected journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed that Newcastle United have won the race to land Trevan Sanusi from Birmingham City this month. It is believed that the Magpies have beaten multiple clubs in their pursuit of the English whizkid.

Sanusi’s Rapid Rise In English Football
The 16-year-old joined Birmingham City’s academy at a very young age and has done well to catch the eye with his performances for their youth teams. Sanusi managed to break into the West Midlands club’s Under-21 team recently and is expected to have a very bright future in English football.
The talented teenager has already proven his worth as a decent performer in the youth levels of English football. However, he is still waiting to taste first-team football.
Hence, Newcastle would have to be patient with his progress before they can promote him to play in Eddie Howe’s first XI.

Sanusi can use his quickness to cause a few problems for the opposition defenders out in the wide areas. He can even create the odd chance for his teammates up top and can shoot the ball well from long range.
The English prospect is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also operate as a right-winger if told to do so by his manager. However, Sanusi is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth in senior football. Furthermore, he has to work on improving his decision-making on the attacking third of the pitch.
At 16, Sanusi has the potential to be a generational talent, so Newcastle have done well to snap him up this month. There is no denying that he is a star in the making and could be a success story at St. James’ Park in the long run.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has got the experience to nurture Sanusi into a real gem in the future. All in all, he could prove to be a shrewd, long-term acquisition for the Magpies. However, it remains to be seen whether the gifted youngster can cope with the physicality and high intensity of top-flight football.
