In a recent report, UOL revealed that West Ham United would have to pay €25m for Corinthians forward Yuri Alberto this summer. It is understood that the Hammers have been told to increase their offer if they want to sign the Brazilian striker before the end of this transfer window.
Alberto’s Impressive Record In Brazilian Football
Alberto has enjoyed a decent spell at Corinthians and has done well to put in a series of productive performances for them in the final third. The 22-year-old has found the back of the net 21 times and picked up nine assists in 73 appearances for the Brazilian outfit thus far across multiple competitions.
The Brazilian sensation has led the line well at times by averaging 2.4 shots, 0.5 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Brasileirao. However, he lacked quality when interchanging possession with his teammates on the attacking third of the pitch after completing only 73.5% of his attempted passes in the Brazilian top tier (stats via whoscored).
Alberto is under contract at his current club Corinthians until the end of 2027. Thus, West Ham have got no choice but to meet the Brazilian club’s demands if they want to sign their prized asset this summer.

Alberto can engineer a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to create some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third and can even make a few intelligent runs with the ball.
The Brazilian talent will only get better as he matures as a footballer. He is primarily a centre-forward but can also serve as a wide player on either flank if told to do so by his manager.
Alberto would no doubt inject more goals into West Ham head coach David Moyes’ frontline. He is good enough to rival Michail Antonio for a regular starting spot at the London Stadium this season. Thus, the Hammers should think about going all out to snap Alberto up before the end of this transfer window as he could help the East London club push for European football in the Premier League next year.
